Miles better
This week has been full of travelling...
On Tuesday I drove to St Ives in Cornwall to deliver some gorgeous Chichester furniture to a customer's home. Kindly they made me a cuppa or two and I helped unpack all the furniture and place it in their dining room ~ wow it looks fantastic! This picture shows some of the furniture I took to them (although this image is not of their lovely home).

On Thursday evening I collected my good friend Trina and we drove to Cardiff to meet up with Cecily (my daughter). The three of us then braved the torrential rain to make the short journey by foot to Cardiff International Arena. This evening jolly was my special treat; for many years I have wanted to see Oasis play and at last my wish was fulfilled.
When Dave and I first met, we often went out dancing, well, I danced with other friends and Dave tried very hard not to get dragged onto the dance floor. I have so many memories of dancing to Oasis songs and Thursday night I was catapulted back to our courting days. I sang my little heart out and bopped the entire evening.... tired, but oh-so-very happy I drove us all back to Rhayader late on Thursday night.
At the crack of dawn on Friday morning, Cecily and I piled into the car once again to make the long journey to Wigan in Lancashire for an MRI scan that she was due to have on her shoulder (her ongoing joint problem). We had been travelling for about 3/4 hour when we received a telephone call on her mobile phone to tell her that the scanner had problems and her appointment was postponed. So we turned the car around and headed southwards again and I took her home to Bath.
After spending a lovely day with Cecily and her friends, I finally got home on Friday night (actually it was Saturday morning in the small hours). For me this weekend has been all about recouperation and catching up with jobs that have been missed during this hectic week of being out and about.
It is lovely to go away, but as the song says, it's so much nicer to come home!
Chat soon, Liz
