Out with the old...
Oh ages ago, I promised to put a picture of our Christmas tree onto my blog, so here it is... now devoid of all the presents that were nestled beneath it, but still looking pretty all the same. Actually what really amazes about this picture is that the big blanket box that lives in the bay of the window is entirely hidden by the tree. The box is well over 3 feet wide, so you get an idea of how big our tree is (& can imagine the fight I have with it each year to put it up and the dismantle it again).
This lovely specimen of grumpiness is Bella ~ the one who leaves hidden ginger fluff on our hall carpet (see an earlier blog entry). She is usually a charming cat, very sweet natured and friendly. She doesn't look very happy here, but I used the flash on the camera and this was the fourth picture I had taken, so I think she was being blinded by the light!
Anyway...
Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Looking back on this morning's activities I should have known when the paper got jammed in the printer that gently teasing it out of the slot and then whacking the whole thing with the full force of a mad woman was probably not going to do it much good ~ and it didn't! So Dave is now busy ordering me a new laser printer as I sit amidst the crumbled pieces of my much loved, overworked, undervalued and broken one. Hmm, let's hope this is how we will see out the old year and start the new one with more brain and less brute force.
I can tell that I am back at work today ~ my body is behaving like a bull in a china shop and my brain appears to have gone on holiday.

Here's wishing a happy & peaceful New Year to everyone.
Chat next year, Liz
