Country Quilts

What a nice few days it has been; I have had a good rest and feel refreshed and ready for the new year ahead.
Dave and I have spent a pleasant few hours this week looking through our suppliers catalogues and deciding which products we will stock for spring and summer 2008. I love this selection process, I want so many things and Dave wants others and we go through a lovely elimination process (called she who has the biggest trantrum wins!) until we decide on the particular items we will keep in stock for the next season.
We have decided to offer a wider range of patchwork quilts and quilted accessories. Many of the new designs reflect my love of Amish and traditional American quilts and others because they compliment our existing lines of bedding. They will start to appear on our website over the next couple of months as they arrive with us.
Well it's almost new year and as last new year, I will be starting a diet to help remove what Dave refers to as 'winter stores'. Last year I gave up biscuits and gently monitored what I was eating and without going on one of those faddy diets or being hungry (and therefore grumpy), I lost 4 dress sizes over the first 6 months of the year. Sadly, I took less care of what I shovelled into my mouth in the second half of the year and put some of that weight back on. As I felt so much happier being a little lighter and smaller, I think now is the time to address the results of what Cecily described as 'Oh Mum, you have done a little comfort eating'. If my blog becomes a bit food focussed over the next couple of weeks, you will know why and so please forgive me if my tummy does the talking rather than my brain.
Well it's Saturday teatime, there's no X factor to stare at on the telly and Dave has gone out for the evening with friends to celebrate the impending marriage of one of them. So I plan to curl up on the sofa with Cecily and watch chick-flicks ~ oh joy!
I need a cuppa to strengthen me before we watch the films, chat soon, Liz
