Ooooh new shoes!
It's the end of the week and quite frankly, I am delighted! Tomorrow I am hitting the shops with a friend and we are going shoe shopping ~ second only to finding pretty things for the website and shop, this is my favourite kind of shopping. When I was a teenager and shoes were very high up on my agenda of essential things in life, shoe manufacturers seemed to create the best shoes in a limited range of sizes. I would spend hours looking for shoes that fitted my (rather large) feet and be reduced to tears of frustration that I couldn't have 'that pair in that colour'. Nowadays, manufacturers seem to cater for a wider range of sizes and tastes (thank you) and the whole experience is much more pleasant.
Now according to Dave, taking me shoe shopping is a nightmare and he just doesn't get the subtle differences between heel heights or the importance of toe shapes. He has a couple of pairs of shoes, both the same design, one that he wears for everyday use and one that he keeps 'for best'. I, on the other hand, have slightly more than 2 pairs and am always ready to make room in the wardrobe to accomodate one more pair ~ I usually do this by getting rid of something of Dave's.
As we live in a rural area, I usually shop for clothes online, but there are some things in life that I feel I need to be 'in situ' to make the purchase, shoes are one of these things. For almost everything else I prefer to shop online. I love it when I come across a website I haven't seen before and spend half and hour or so exploring their goodies. I hope that you have had the same experience exploring Pretty Practicals.
Back to the shoes... As Dave has learnt over the years that one pair of new shoes = shoes, handbag, scarf and accessories (like a brooch or earings) and in winter it can also mean a hat too. So tomorrow's little jolly should be great fun, even if it will leave a dent in my bank balance!
Well it's late and I have been awake for the greater part of the day (today's first blog was at silly o'clock this morning), as usual a cup of tea awaits me... chat soon, Liz
P.S. Congratulations to Carli & Gary who have had good news recently.
